Collaboration

What is a Team?

A team is a group of users that are created and managed as one in the Soonr service. Team members can work together and collaborate.
Teams have administrators that can manage the team, their account configurations and settings.
Team administrators manage the team under Settings | Team in the service.
Team members use backup quota from the team quota. When the team quota has been used exhausted its time to buy more quota by upgrading the account.

I am just a single user – can I use Soonr?

Individual users can use Soonr as well as large teams of users. An individual user is a team with one member. The entire quota in the team will belong to the one user and Projects created by the user are securely organized and stored in the service.

What is a Project?

Projects are online folders that are stored in the service. You can upload and copy files to Project folders for the purpose of organizing and collaborating with other team members.
Initially projects you create are personal to you meaning that only you will have access to the projects. All personal projects are kept in a group called “Personal Projects” in the Projects tab. You can copy any files from your computer backup to a project.
Then you can share the project with other team members. Shared projects are in the “My Shared Projects” group.
Projects other team members share with you are in the “Projects Shared With Me” group.

Project Collaboration

When you share a project you remain the owner of the Project and maintain control of it contents, who has access to it and what they are allowed to do in the project.
All members will be able to access the files and folders in the shared project.
Only members that you have granted “Full Access” permission are able to edit, upload, delete and otherwise manipulate the files and folders in the shared project.

What is Quota?

The backup mechanism of Soonr works within your account quota. The quota is the amount of storage that you are allowed to use on the Soonr service. If your files to be backed up take more space than your quota you will need to select less to be backed up or get more quota by upgrading your account.

What is User Seats?

If you are working together with other people in a team you can each have a Soonr account in the same team. That will allow you to work together on projects and get all your files backed up in the process. User seats are the number of accounts that may be created inside the team.

I am an individual user – how do I share files with others?

Soonr offers the ability to create web links pointing to content in your Soonr. For security purposes web links may be password protected and time limited. Web links can be sent by email or sms to other people for remote access from either computers or mobile phones.
