Kumaran P. (South Africa)
shares his SoonR Moment story:
"A client bought an attachment to a machine recently, but could not install it and asked for instructions. This happened on a Thursday. I then sent a pdf file containing a sketch and instructions the next day to him.
On the Saturday, his technician called me on my mobile, and asked for the instructions. Apparently his boss (my client) did not go to work on Friday, so the message was still in his inbox. Problem was I was on holiday with family 180km from my PC. I remembered I downloaded SoonR recently. I found the pdf file on an email sent by my supplier to me a few days ago, and just forwarded it to him.
It really saved a lot of time, as the technician was already on site, so could complete the job.
This would have been impossible without SoonR!"

Amy S. (San Jose, CA)
Designer, Charming Sam

"Recently while traveling to the East Coast and away from my office I got a call from a large retail prospect asking me to forward digital copies of all my product line sheets, press and photographs.
I've been chasing this large partnership for over two years in hopes they would carry my product line. They called unexpectedly because another supplier didn't deliver items for their summer catalog and they needed replacement pieces ASAP. They wanted to review my products that day! Because I have a small business a laptop is a luxury I can't afford and instead have been using SoonR to access my email while away from my office.
This time though I needed documents and photographs off my hard drive immediately! Thankfully I had my mobile phone and my SoonR account. I quickly logged on to my office computer, gathered all the necessary documents and emailed them within an hour. I couldn't have done any of this without SoonR."

Juliet B. shares her exciting SoonR Moment story:
"Good day everyone! It’s very nice to hear inspiring stories of other people, what they encountered and experienced with SoonR.
Now it’s time for me to also share my story!
I am a graduating student from a reputable school here in our place. Being a graduating student, we had a lot of projects and of course the much feared "PROJECT DEFENSE!" Anyways, it’s our time now to defend our project in front of all the professors. Everyone was looking up to our software and hardware based project.
When we were done with the discussion and the presentation of our working project drew near, our project did not work! It was then that we remembered that the new program that we did was not burned into the micro processor and the new program was left at home! All of us were pretty scared now of failing because of the little lapse that we did.
Just then I remembered that I just registered at SoonR. It claimed that you can access your pc desktop shares using the net. But I remembered my computer being turned off just before we left from home. Then I had just remembered that I made the file available using the store mode, making it accessible even when my pc was turned off. So we downloaded the program that we did (we were glad that the computer we were using on the presentation had an internet connection), and burned it on to our micro processor and luckily all of us had a 1.0 grade thanks to the wonders of SoonR! SoonR staffs, you are the best!!!!! Your people had great ideas in mind! Thank you very much!!!"

Janus B. (Cebu, Philippines) chose the LG VX9800. His winning SoonR Moment story:
"I've read stories of the guys who have truly wonderful 'life saving' stories, made possible by SoonR. Isn't it wonderful to have phone access to your files from your computer which is both online and offline?
This is my story. I am an MIS at my company and I do the regular routine of a Sys Admin and Network Admin, always carrying a thumb drive containing tools and configuration and setup files that I could use for both onsite and offsite. I am a new System Administrator, and as a new Sys Admin, I’m still trying to impress my Boss with how I can deliver information and communication technology to the company. I always carry with me my trusted friend, Mr. Thumbdrive, and always depend on it.
One day, our boss' wife (who has her own small company in another city) called up saying they have a problem with their standalone computer. Files needed for inventory and a presentation for their client are there. Trying to impress everyone, I rushed to her office in a taxi. Upon arrival, she asked me if the files can be retrieved ASAP, and with confidence, I said, 'Yup, no problem ma’am!' So I went to the computer thinking that the software I needed in order to retrieve the files was on my thumbdrive. Just then, I realized I had just reformatted the thumbdrive! In other words, 'EMPTY!' They were all watching me, I didn’t know what to say to them.
Just then, the greatest idea popped in my head. 'Why don’t I try SoonR? I just signed up for it, read the testimonials and stories, but actually haven't tried using it on my phone.' So I logged in using my Nokia phone, entered my credentials and started downloading the software I needed. I then transferred it to the MMC card, plugged it into the card reader, plugged that into the computer, and… Voilà! Mission accomplished! For a second, I thought I was going to be a complete embarrassment, but SoonR sure did live up to its name, saving my life!! Thanks a lot, SoonR staff!!!"

Laurent Calixte (Paris, France)
Journaliste, Magazine Challenges
www.challenges.fr
"As a journalist for Challenges magazine, I have been invited at a Thai restaurant in Neuilly sur Seine to meet Eric Bourstouller, CEO of Microsoft France and VP of Mcrosoft Europe. During the lunch, he asked my boss when our paper about MS would be published. My boss answered 'I don't know, do you have any idea, Laurent?' I answered:' I don't really know, my roadmap with the date on it is in my desktop at the office, but maybe this will help.' And I showed my Qtek phone with the SoonR software, connected to the Internet, opened my roadmap and found out the answer: 'Microsoft: Challenges n° 44 6/30/2006' "

Abdelhameed A. (Alcatel, Egypt) chose the
Samsung SCH-i730. His winning SoonR Moment story:
"I know this story may not be as attractive as the other stories, but really it was very critical to me.
I was on vacation and traveled to another city to spend a week with my wife. I'm used to closing my PC at work to prevent access from others, but after I subscribed to SoonR, I left the PC on to see if I could make use of SoonR.
When I arrived at the hotel with my wife, they asked for a copy of my marriage certificate to prove that the woman with me is really my wife (this is a must in my country). If I didn't have proof, my wife and I would have to stay in separate rooms (not good). We’re not allowed to meet in any room at the hotel alone, and it would be silly to spend the whole night alone. Moreover, I didn’t want to pay for another room.
I turned it into a huge issue with the hotel staff, but they didn’t back down. I had gotten quite angry when my wife asked me to simply call a colleague at work, give him my password to access the PC, print out my marriage certificate and fax it to me. That’s when I remembered SoonR, so I accessed my PC, got a copy of my marriage certificate and gave it to the hotel.
I was so happy I was able to share the same room with my wife without spending extra on another room, made possible with SoonR’s help. I love it so much — and my wife too."..." Read more » |

Santhosh K. (Kerala, India) chose the
Blackberry 7290. His winning SoonR Moment story:
"I was a freelance graphic designer trying to land a good job in a software firm. After three months of filing applications, I considered my options to choose the best. I was finally called up by one of those 'crème de la crème' gaming companies for an interview. The letter specifically mentioned a test, interview and discussion.
D-day arrived and I set out for the office with my heart in my mouth. The test went rather well with me showcasing my skills in Photoshop, Corel Draw, 3-D Max and Maya. I was disappointed to note, however, that the other candidates were just as good, if not better.
Proceeding to the interview, I was surprised to find that the conference room contained the MD, HR manager and senior project managers. I gathered how serious they were about selecting the right candidate for the job.
The interview started off without much frivolousness as we discussed my past works and the kind of animation I did.
Then came the killer question, the MD asked me, "Mr. Kumar you have done rather well in your skill test, but tell me why you think you are the right person for the job.”
I froze... my mind was speeding... what answer could I give that could set me apart from five other equally good candidates????
"I am the best you can get," I replied. "And I can prove it to you. Please give me a minute, I can show you."
My sister had started a SoonR account on our home PC a few days ago. Without much thought to it I had simply shared all my most important folders through SoonR.
It was like magic. They got the LCD on, and within a moment, they were watching my best work on the screen. Everything shown had a story to tell: My college dropout days, my first project, the passion behind every pixel of my landscapes....
They sat spellbound through the session. By the end, looking at their faces, I knew it was a done deal.
The MD was grinning when he said, "Mr. Kumar you are rather up to date with today’s technology."
I told them about Soonr and the services it offered. It was a treat to watch their incredulous faces when I showed them how to access a system through the mobile UI with SoonR.
Needless to say, I got the 50K job thanks to SoonR. I can’t believe that technology could bring me this much luck!
Soonr ROCKS!!! Absolutely! Thank you guys!"..." Read more » |

Andrew K. (San Francisco, CA) chose the PPC-6700. His winning SoonR Moment story:
"It’s 8:30 am the morning of my flight and I’m getting everything ready for work/travel. Since I’m leaving from work I’ve got to make sure that everything is ready this morning before I leave my house. Toothbrush – check; underwear – check; iPod – check. Wired Mag – check. Since I’m flying standby on American, I’ve got a special login and password to check-in early for the flight – these things are first come first serve so the earlier the better.
I send an e-mail to my work account with all the info so that I can check-in four hours before my flight leaves. When I arrive at work I realize that the e-mail has been blocked by our spam server. No login, no password, no website, no hope of getting on that plane. But wait, can’t I access my e-mail from Soonr?
I hop on the Soonr website and check my home e-mail. Indeed my e-mail was rejected, but the original e-mail was not included with my rejection letter. Seconds are ticking, other standbys are surely checking in and booting me, one by one, from my first class seat back home. Soonr integrates with Google Desktop though, and I can surely find my original e-mail with that, right? I hesitantly bring up the Google Desktop page on Soonr.com, do a quick search for “userid” and up pops my original e-mail – I’m all set! At work or on the go, Soonr’s always got me covered. Thanks guys!"..." Read more » |

Ashish B. (New Delhi, India) chose the
LG CU320. His winning SoonR Moment story:
"SoonR was nothing short of magic for me!! I tried the service and was impressed. Some time passed, with life going on as usual with my computers. My usual pattern changed a few days back, and the change agent was nothing short of a revolution – it was SoonR!
My boss had asked me to get him photos of my recent trek to the mountains. He was planning a similar one during his annual leave. So I spent one evening transferring the photos to my pen drive, and put the drive on my bag to avoid any morning memory lapses.
Next day was busy with client meetings. We were working really late, when my boss said – 'Let’s see your adventure photographs; that should be a good way to wrap-up this long day. Meet me in 15 minutes.'
I grabbed my bag and tried to locate my pen drive, but it was not to be found. I called my and wife and found she had put the pen drive in the cupboard so it wouldn’t get damaged. I was dumb stuck – what was I going to do? After a few minutes, I remembered SoonR! Maybe I could still make this turn out okay.
Back to my boss -- 'So where's your pen drive,' he asked me, unable to control his impatience. 'Well, the pics are on your laptop, I just need to show you,' I replied in equal impatience. 'Hey man, I don't want the flickr view, I want to see your 8 mega-pixel pics,' he warned, pre-empting that I was up to something smart.
In a few seconds, I was into SoonR, and there were my photos. It was difficult to know which one of us was more excited.
Within the next 15 minutes, I had convinced my boss that the vacation was a deal. His mood was upbeat while I'm sure he was wondering how I was getting those pics in their 'real beauty' on the screen. I decided to demonstrate how he could access the pics using his Razr mobile phone. It worked like a charm. And then came the much awaited words, 'By the way- why don't you confirm your participation for that training in Italy you mentioned. I think it will help you learn the new technology.'
When I came out, my friend asked me if I got the grilling. I smiled and replied – well no, but I got two weeks in Rome in November!! She was amazed, and then I promised to teach her more about SoonR the coming Monday. And the pen drive will probably remain in the cupboard for a long time! "..." Read more » |

Rami L. (Dearborn, Michigan) shares his SoonR Moment story:
"It was my first day on vacation, and just the night before I had installed SoonR on my new Nokia e61, without really knowing how powerful the SoonR software is. That same night, I had forgotten to sync my phone with my Outlook.
Anyway, I was on the road for my vacation and I received a call that one of the websites I manage was down. I needed to call my host ASAP and let them know to look into my server or reboot if necessary. Luckily, I was able to sign in to my SoonR account and lookup an email from my host which contained their number. I got the number from an old email, selected SoonR’s Skype Talk option and was able to contact my host!
It was sweet and amazingly easy!
Great work! And this is the beta? Can't wait for the final! Keep up the good work!!"..." Read more » |
